Een orvallekken of azuu?
Just a while ago the future cult comedy series “Willy’s en Marjetten” divided Flanders in two camps. The pro’s were excited about the typical absurd humor, the con’s obviously didn’t get it. Unfortunately the fans were outnumbered by the haters so the show was taken off the antenna.
Meanwhile the running jokes seem to go for hitstatus in popular youthculture, with 90% of the series covered on youtube and views reaching way into the 100.000’s it seems like “Willy’s & Marjetten” isn’t dead just yet.
More amazing even is the champion belt for brilliant product placement will go to Orval, the Luxembourgian beer. I have no clue if this was done on purpose or not, but I know I’ve been drinking more Orval lately. I’m a sheep yes, can’t help it. It’s a solid beer though!
And here’s the news: the new chief rocker of the Orval abbey is Lode Van Hecke. Born and raised in Roeselare! Hell, he even went to ‘t college, my old school! Now ain’t that something! All of a sudden I feel connected to them monks.

Savoured the flavour of Orval for the first time at my boo’s place. It’s indeed a solid beer. Sit back and relax and enjoy it to the fullest. not the beer to drink when you want to paint the town red, unless you want to vomit blood of course.
Oh yeah, didn’t like W&M the first time I saw it. Had to like grow into it, just like a new pair of boxers.
Shame those nitpickers took it off screen. Like our tax money is better spent on crappy shows like “beste vrienden”, “vriend of vijand”, “fc de kampioenen”, “één jaar gratis”… to name but a few.
Aren’t i right?

@ Peter Forret: Ook ondergetekende versleet zes jaar z’n broek op de banken van ‘t college. Niet dat ik er trots op ben. ‘t Legendarische verleden van de school is de laatste decennia slechts een heel heel heel erg flauw afkookseltje van wat ‘t ooit was.
